Fuel prices in Montenegro change once a week, and the ceiling is the same across the country. The Ministry of Energy and Mining sets a maximum retail price per litre for Eurosuper 95, Eurosuper 98, Eurodiesel and heating oil, and stations may sell at that price or below, never above. The table below shows the week in force, the maximum for each fuel and the date the decision was published.

Maximum fuel prices

Valid 27.10.2026-02.11.2026 · next prices from 03.11.2026

Eurosuper 98€1.85
Eurosuper 95€1.81
Eurodiesel€1.98
Heating oil€2.02

Euros per litre, VAT included. The Ministry of Energy and Mining sets these maximum retail prices every week; stations may sell below them. Weeks with no published dataset are missing.

How the price is set

The maximum follows the Government regulation on calculating the maximum retail price of certain petroleum products (Uredba o načinu obračuna maksimalne maloprodajne cijene određenih vrsta naftnih derivata, Sl. list CG 40/26). The ministry runs the calculation on Monday and the new maximums apply from Tuesday for seven days. Each weekly notice states the dates it covers, and the calculation sheet attached to it carries the rounded maximum retail price that the table shows. Prices include VAT. When the Government cuts the excise duty on a fuel by a separate decision, the weekly notice says so and the calculation applies it.

Some weeks pass without a published notice. When a week is missing, the table keeps the last published week with its dates rather than estimating. The price on the pump display is the one you pay; the ministry's weekly notice on data.gov.me is the official record if in doubt.

Price history

Every published week is kept, so the table shows how the maximum has moved since the first stored decision, fuel by fuel. Weekly moves are usually a matter of a few cents, and petrol and diesel do not always move together.

Petrol stations

The fuel stations directory maps the stations of the three big operators from their own locators: EKO (Jugopetrol), Petrol and Lukoil. Opening hours and fuel types, including LPG, appear where the operator publishes them; EKO's locator gives the address, phone number and services but no hours or fuel types.

What is called what at the pump

  • Eurodizel: diesel.
  • Eurosuper 95 and Eurosuper 98: unleaded petrol by octane rating; Petrol brands its fuels Q Max 95, Q Max 100 and Q Max Diesel.
  • TNG (tečni naftni gas): LPG or autogas. Its price is not set by the weekly decision, so it varies by station.
  • Lož ulje: heating oil, in the weekly decision but not for cars.

Fuel on a Montenegro road trip

Fuel is the main running cost of driving in Montenegro, but not the only one: the tolls page covers the Sozina tunnel and the motorway, and the road conditions page lists closures and roadworks on the main roads. If you are choosing a rental car, compare the petrol and diesel rows in the table first: either one can be the dearer fuel. With one maximum price for the whole country, there is no reason to hunt for a cheaper station: fill up where it suits the route, and check the directory for 24-hour stations and LPG before a long drive.

Common questions

What is the price of diesel in Montenegro today?

The table at the top shows this week's maximum for Eurodiesel with the date of the decision. Stations may charge less, never more.

Why do all stations have the same price?

Because the price is a weekly maximum set by the Ministry of Energy and Mining under a Government regulation. Stations may go below it, never above.

How often do fuel prices change in Montenegro?

Weekly: the ministry calculates on Monday and the new maximums apply from Tuesday for seven days. Each notice gives the dates it covers.

Which stations are open 24 hours?

The fuel stations directory shows opening hours where the operator publishes them: Petrol gives a weekly schedule per station, EKO's locator gives none. Ask at the station or locally before counting on a night stop.

Is there LPG (TNG)?

Yes, at some stations; the directory shows it where the operator lists it. The weekly decision does not set an LPG price.
