The Draga is a right tributary of the Tara in Pljevlja municipality, 11.2 km long, rising from several springs below the peaks of Ljubišnja. It runs through a narrow canyon about 800 m deep, sinks in places on the way down, has two waterfalls and reaches the Tara at a strong spring called Turka glava, inside Durmitor National Park.
Course
From the Ljubišnja springs the river drops into its canyon. It carries more water in its upper course than near the mouth, because it sinks in places on the way down. The lower canyon runs from Jelov Panj to the Tara, where the pools are called Draški virovi. At the confluence is the Turka glava spring, and a little downstream on the Tara the Kućišta spring.
The canyon
The canyon is about 800 m deep, with an old water mill at its head, and belongs to the tourist offer of Pljevlja. The Draga waterfalls are one of the landmarks passed on Tara rafting trips from Splavište.
Protection
The lower canyon lies in Durmitor National Park, which counts the Draga with the Tara, the Sušica and the upper Komarnica among its four canyons.
Getting there
The Draga meets the Tara on the Pljevlja side of the Tara canyon.
