Lučice is a 220 m beach of fine golden sand in a bay 500 m south of Petrovac, closed by two capes and surrounded by cypress and pine wood, in the municipality of Budva. The water is shallow, there are restaurants, bars and water sports, and free and paid parking lies near the beach. The Lučice bathing area has held the Blue Flag. In season it is also one of the riviera's party beaches.

Getting there and parking

From Petrovac it is 500 m on foot. By car it is best reached from the Adriatic highway through Petrovac; there is free and paid parking near the beach. The Budva-Petrovac city bus runs all year, about every hour from early morning to late evening, and ends in Petrovac centre; a taxi stand is by the bus station. By road from Petrovac: Budva 18 km (about 30 minutes), Sutomore 14 km (about 21 minutes), Bar 27 km (about 40 minutes), Tivat Airport 40 km (about 53 minutes), Podgorica Airport 48 km (about 59 minutes).

The beach

About 220 m long with an area of 4,250 m². Fine golden sand on the shore, with pebbles in places, and shallow water, which suits children. Cypress and pine wood surrounds the bay. Restaurants and bars stand behind the sand, and water sports are offered in season.

Loungers and the free half

Every public bathing area must keep half of its length free of loungers and umbrellas and mark it, with a free strip along the water and a passage to the sea at least every 20 m. Lifeguards are posted at least one per 50 m of shore in July and August and one per 100 m in the other months of the season, which runs from May to October, when the bathing water is also tested.

Blue Flag

The bathing area Lučice (26A) has held the Blue Flag. The flag belongs to the concession, not to the whole bay.

Off Petrovac lie the islets Veliki and Mali Katič, a nature park and marine protected area of over 2,500 ha; diving clubs in Petrovac dive the islets and the shore from Cape Dubovac to Čanj, and the cruiser Zenta is the known wreck off the town.
