Orjensko sedlo (the Orjen Saddle), 1,600 m, is the highest point in the Orjen massif that a road reaches, and Nature Park Orjen calls it an excellent viewpoint. The road is the Austro-Hungarian military road from Trebinje via Vrbanj and Orjensko sedlo to Crkvice, still the only road through the massif. The saddle is one of the park's three entrances and, because of the road's state, is used mostly by hikers and cyclists.
How to get there
- By road: the Austro-Hungarian road from Vrbanj above Herceg Novi. The park's pages describing it were last edited in 2019; check the current state of the surface before driving.
- By bike from Vrbanj (1,009 m): 1 h to 1 h 50 up, 30 min to 1 h down, graded moderate. Snow on the road is usual until the end of April.
- Sedlo to Crkvice (1,080 m): 45 min to 1 h 15 down, 1 h 15 to 2 h 20 back up. Crkvice has the ruins of an Austro-Hungarian barracks.

The park's 4x4 tour
The saddle is the main stop of the park's tour "Carev put": May to September, booked 48 hours ahead, 4 to 5 hours with about 1 hour of walking, starting at the information desk at Vrbanj. The price includes park entry; the amount was blank on the park's page when read, as was the general entry fee.
Mountain hut
The hut "Orjen sedlo", run by the mountaineering club PK Subra, stands at the saddle.

On foot
The trail from Za Vratlom via Borova glava to Orjensko sedlo links the southern and central parts of the massif and continues to Veliki kabao. The park's other summit viewpoints, Subra and Odijevo, are reached from the hut Za Vratlom and from Šljeme.

Nearby
Lower on the same slopes, the park lists Žukovica (1,150 m, a katun with a view over the Subra amphitheatre, 20 to 40 minutes by bike from Vrbanj) and Šilobod (480 m, a former fortified position overlooking the bay entrance, 10 to 20 minutes from Kameno).
