Kolašin 1600 is the state ski resort on Bjelasica, 12 km above Kolašin and about 70 km from Podgorica by the motorway. One six-seat chairlift, K8 Troglava, rises to 2,035 m above a base at about 1,600 m, with two surface lifts and a magic carpet for beginners; a day pass costs €25 for adults and €16.50 for children up to 14. The resort opened on 16 February 2019, the first of a planned series of new centres on the mountain, and is run by Skijališta Crne Gore, a state company for which it is the only operating centre. It is the newer and higher of the two Kolašin resorts; the older Kolašin 1450 is 2.3 km away, and the K7 chairlift that links them has been out of service since 2024.

Lifts and pistes

The main lift is K8 Troglava, a six-seat detachable Doppelmayr chairlift with heated seats, from the base to 2,035 m just below the Troglava peak (2,072 m). For 2024/25 two Leitner surface lifts were added, a T-bar of 800 m and a platter lift of 400 m, and a magic carpet serves the beginner area.

The second chairlift, K7 Klisura (opened in February 2022, top station 1,778 m), links the resort with Kolašin 1450 and the 9 km of pistes between them. It has stood still since 2024, after works on a neighbouring private plot destabilised pylon 4; the repair, paid by the Ministry of Tourism at €150,000, was in its final phase in October 2026, with the two areas due to be linked again for 2026/27 if the contractor finishes before the season.

The 8 marked pistes on the K8 side, 2 blue, 4 red and 2 black, add up to 10.5 km; the whole area is about 21 km, and about 45 km together with Kolašin 1450 once K7 runs. Phase one built 10 km of pistes and K7 serves another 9 km.

Ski passes and rental

A day pass costs €25 (children up to 14 €16.50), a half day €18 (€11.50), seven days €105 (€75.50) and a season pass €400 (€250); residents of Kolašin, Mojkovac, Berane and Andrijevica paid €350 (€175) for the season. Seniors over 65 pay half, families get 10 to 30% off on passes of three days or more, and a single chairlift ride costs €8 (€5). A ski set rents for €15 a day (children €12) or €81 a week, a snowboard set the same, a helmet €6 and a sledge €7. The full price list is in the box on this page.

From 2025/26 a pass bought at Kolašin is announced as valid at Jahorina in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and an agreement with Ski Resorts of Serbia covers Kopaonik; the price list covers Kolašin 1600 only, with no joint line for Kolašin 1450.

Season 2025/26

The winter opening event was held on 12-14 December 2025, but skiing started on 14 January 2026, when part of the pistes opened after about 40 cm of snow. The season was extended into early April: 67 to 77 ski days depending on the count, about 24,400 to 25,000 passes and about €1 million in pass sales. Without snowmaking, the start of each season depends on the first snowfall; the Kolašin 1600 webcams and the snow and skiing today page show the current state.

Services and plans

The K8 lift, the Troglava restaurant (about 400 seats) and the café at the base work 09:00-19:00. The base station has ski and snowboard rental, a ski school and tubing. There is no snowmaking or night skiing yet: a snowmaking system with two reservoirs is planned in phases, and a €1.2 million project to light the pistes along the surface lifts is aimed at 2026/27. Mountain rescue: +382 67 00 1600.

No hotel is open at the base; ten hotel and apartment buildings are planned and the first two are under construction, so the beds are in Kolašin. A five-level garage for Kolašin 1600 and 1450 (626 cars, 8 buses) is being built, and a gondola from Kolašin town to both resorts (€101 million) was announced for tender in January 2026.

Getting there

By car the base car park is 11.7 km and about 16 minutes from Kolašin, 34 km from Mojkovac, 69.5 km and about 1 h 15 from Podgorica by the motorway to Mateševo, and 132 km from Budva (free-flow times, no allowance for snow). Parking costs €7 a day for a car, €10 for a minivan and €15 for a bus. A bus runs daily from the centre of Kolašin. The mountain, Bjelasica, and Biogradska gora national park on its slopes have their own pages; the other Montenegrin centres are compared on the skiing page.
