Gorica is the hill right beside the centre of Podgorica, covered in pine forest and used as a recreation area all year. The Podgorica tourist office lists its walking, cycling and triathlon trails, an adventure park, the Partisan Fighter memorial and a Mediterranean garden of mostly endemic species. The view is over the right bank of the Morača and the Millennium Bridge.
What you see
The right bank of the Morača with the Millennium Bridge in the foreground. In winter the hill shields the city from the north wind.
How to get there
- On foot: the hill adjoins the city centre; trails cross it.
- GPS: no official viewpoint is marked. OpenStreetMap's summit node "Gorica" is at 42.44878, 19.27265 (130 m in OSM); the map marker here is that summit and is approximate.
Trails
The marked trail from Gorica via Malo brdo to Duklja, 11.3 km, starts at St George's church on the hill and leads to the Roman ruins of Duklja. A built viewpoint on Malo brdo, on the same trail, looks over Podgorica and the Zeta plain on one side and the Zeta-Morača confluence and Duklja on the other. The extended version of the trail continues to Trijebač hill, where the Trijepč memorial stands and the view covers the city, the Morača and the mountains around.

On the hill
- Adventure park.
- Memorial to the Partisan Fighter.
- Mediterranean garden of mostly endemic plants.
- Walking, cycling and triathlon trails through pine forest.
